This occured yesterday while I was at work. Evidently the funnel cloud passed right over my apartment complex after wiping out the church. It didn't touch down as it passed but it dropped back down into Gallatin and did quite a bit of damage. It's pretty hard to move around right now so this is all I've had time to shoot at the moment.

More insulation. I found a piece of this five miles away in some woods where the tornado went through. Check out the styrofoam wedged in between the pipe and telephone pole.

Insulation everywhere. This is East of the Impact zone...

Parishioners surrounded by vultures. I should have popped both of them with my monopod. They were shooting a story and periodically laughing up a storm. Not very respectful

At this point I decided I was done. I had noticed a professional photog had shown up and walked right into the building. I figured I would give it a shot and here’s what I found…

Just unbelievable…

This shot pretty well sums it up for me. After growing up in Oklahoma and suffering the same thing this shot burns it into my mind the most…

Amazingly there were no fatalities at the chuch. There was a pre-school attached to the front of the building that had 35 small children inside at the moment of impact. All of them including the adults came out ok!

WOW....That is an amazing series of pics very well done and I'm glad no fatalities. The shot with the metal wrapped around the tree and the one with the stick, sticking out of the wall are unreal. But the ones from within the church are mind blowing. The coolest one is all the cherry pickers at work. Nice work.

Fantastic series of shots. I heard about this on the news, There has been some bad weather lately, glad to hear you made it alright. Tornados can be very scary.

Wow... excellent shots. My grandmother lived in Hendersonville before she passed away; I spent a lot of time on Old Hickory Lake when I was a kid.

Wow, great PJ work! I'm glad to see that you're safe. The power of tornados is simply unfathomable, and it's amazing how its destruction is so localized. Be safe over there.

Great work. Thanks for sharing them. My hometown is Nashville, where my parents and siblings still live. Glad no fatalities.
