It is the lack of focus on the nose, which occupies such a large piece of the image's real estate, that kills the shot for me. It is long slow learning curve, but you will eventually learn to think of all of your technique factors before you shoot. If you still have access to kitty, you might try this one again. Rad Hi Radtech, I was trying different settings just to see what they would look like. I am going to do what you said about changing ISO and do it over. Kitty never leaves the yard.Thanks for the advice, It really helps.

You may want to select a higher aperature like a f8 as if you zoom in and the subject is very close your DOF maybe too shallow to keep the nose and the eye both in focus.
