Newegg is currently selling the 30D w/ 18-55 lens for the same price as the body only. A free lens never hurt anyone. ;) I've bought a ton of stuff from Newegg over the past several years and their speed and service can't be beat.

I just ordered mine last night. Hope this helps someone.

I've ordered several things off newegg in recent weeks. I plan to order something else from them soon. That is, as soon as it's back in stock. ;) I still buy stuff from B&H, but the customer service and some of the deals you can catch at newegg are outstanding!

See, I'm not sure I really like newegg's customer service. Most of the time I've tried to ship overnight from them with the 3.99 "rush shipping charge" it'll ship a day or two after I place the order. Yesterday, when they sent me the wrong battery grip I waited on hold for an hour and 20 minutes until I finally gave up. Now admittedly, I called back last night and it took me 7 minutes to talk to someone who was very friendly and helpul.

No matter what, I did go after there 30D deal and plan on selling my 18-55 kit lens on ebay to pay for some extension tubes or an off-camera shoe cord. quite a deal.

NewEgg has been my Computer parts supplier for years,.

You don't get "personalized" service,. but you do get what you want and no hassle returns on those occasions when you need them. A rare example where faceless automation in bulk seems to work very well. At least you don't have to wait for days and /or need to contact and complain half a dozen times before some pimply faced kid finally "approves" your RMA,.

.... you just get it. Automated,. and fast.

Good deal but newegg charged me $101 in taxes... basically back to where I was before. Stupid taxes!

this is true. I always buy all my computer gear from them....best prices always. kind of like the B&H of computer parts. It was just too bad there was the screw up with this order and a couple other orders going out later than hoped/expected. overall newegg is still great, and I'll still order from them even if I do have a problem here and there.

Just got it delivered today. I ordered Sunday, it shipped Monday, and I received it on Thursday. Not bad for free shipping.

EOSX,

I know what you're going through. I used to live in California and had to pay the tax any time I bought from Newegg. Needless to say, I cut down on my computer upgrades while I was stationed out there.
