The lens is sharp, quick and accurate focus, fairly nice bokeh, compact, decent build quality, reasonable price. I have not used this lens on a full frame though, and that may be where some edge softness may show up.

Based on the pics in this thread, I think it does great on FF. I think people pay way too much attention to their 100% crops... it might just be this FL (I have a MF 28mm and love it), but something about the pics in here are just special

I don't understand the bad rep this lens gets... based on the majority of the photos in this thread it looks pretty awesome! I might have to add this to my short list...

I agree, this lens is probably one of the best non-L lenses in the Canon line. I love mine.

This is one of my favorite lens. I have no complaints about it.

Its doing pretty good for me. Its biggest drawback for me is the flare it gets, it even flares off the moon when I'm doing night photography.

Apart from that, its compact, fast, sharp and has good enough bokeh for me.

Lucky you. I wish I had a lens with awesome flare. I sold my 10-22 a while back and miss it for that.

I'm in Canada. Isn't that weird!

It goes a bit too overboard with flare for me, maybe you'll like it but it takes over a bit too much of the image for my tastes!

Holy WOW!!! I love that. UFO invasion. I can see how that could distract in a different image.

I could have, but it was just a test shot to see how it handled shooting at night. Perfect composition wasn't that important to me.

Here's a shot from City Museum. I'm thinking of selling my 28mm, as I just got a 24-70 and it's much sharper. I can just bump up the ISO when I have to shoot in low light.
