It's long sat dormant probably stock-piled in camera stores and online. Now suddenly we're all clamoring to get one. Kinda funny if you ask me lol! -Abram-

Adorama has raised it price by $40. Either there is a shortage due to increased demand, or Canon has slowed production. ![]() Anyways, I am not so patiently waiting for my shipment. agphotography wrote in post #8556807 I'm actually quite surprised at the "overnight success" this lens is suddenly getting. I would say this though, if you can pick one up for a good price, get it! It's great on both Full-Frame and 1.6x. I haven't tried it yet on a 1.3x body, but I presume I'd enjoy it just as well. I gave up on the Amazon order and bought the last one at Abe's. I'm quite excited about its addition to my lenses because this prime will mimic the missing 'normal lens' that I did not have. All previously were slower zooms. Bill

I know it's not the sharpest of sharp lenses wide open, but it's absolutely more than usable, and with a little post production magic it can produce some killer results! -Abram-

You'll be more than pleased with it on a XSi, I think it's fantastic on my 40D. Interesting, i might just have to try this one out
