Back Ordered

Since most of you posters already have your 28mm, you have not noticed that both Amazon & Adorama are now taking back orders. Adorama has raised it price by $40. Either there is a shortage due to increased demand, or Canon has slowed production. ???

Anyways, I am not so patiently waiting for my shipment.

In Poland also 28 1.8 is very rare - only second hand there is a chance to buy it.

In Ukraine too... They talk that Canon essentialy reduced amount of lens production due to worldwide crisis...

I'm actually quite surprised at the "overnight success" this lens is suddenly getting. It's long sat dormant probably stock-piled in camera stores and online. Now suddenly we're all clamoring to get one. Kinda funny if you ask me lol!

I would say this though, if you can pick one up for a good price, get it! It's great on both Full-Frame and 1.6x. I haven't tried it yet on a 1.3x body, but I presume I'd enjoy it just as well.

I gave up on the Amazon order and bought the last one at Abe's. I'm quite excited about its addition to my lenses because this prime will mimic the missing 'normal lens' that I did not have. All previously were slower zooms.

It really is a little gem. I absolutely love using it on my 5DmkII. I know it's not the sharpest of sharp lenses wide open, but it's absolutely more than usable, and with a little post production magic it can produce some killer results!

You'll be more than pleased with it on a XSi, I think it's fantastic on my 40D.

Don't be surprised if you hang on to it.

My favorite lens combo is 28/35/50. I don't have a 35 right now, But I expect to get another 35L someday.

Why get rid of it honestly? It's not terribly expensive, but I find it to be invaluable.
