Thanks. Just looked at my EXIF data and I'm unsure why I stopped down to f/2. probably to get the cap a little sharper in-camera before I put it through post-processing

I'm in love again. I just got mine. I was a little worried about how it would crop, because I've got a big gap from 28 to 85. Here's a no-PP building shot, and a way off-center 2% crop:

Yah, there's some CA, but as Shylock said in Merchant of Venice "I am content."

That is a very heavy crop, and even at that it's not that bad. In broad day light tough to get crisp detail without a little loss of detail due to CA. Im sure this lens would fare better than my Nifty ;)

I like this lens quite a bit for close-up work as well even though it is a bit on the wide side.

Here is a 100% crop of the above image:

Yah, that's a great shot - I wondered if mine would do that up close... now I know I can shoot flowers and ants and butterflies.

Oh, my!

Nice shot marubozo!
The short MFD was one of the selling points for this over the Sigma 30 1.4 for me (that and consistent AF + FF compatibility).

Just curious how well this lens does on the 7D. I am thinking about picking one up. I find my 50mm 1.4 a little long inside. My 15-85 is great but a little slow in low light.

I used it on my 40D almost exclusively indoors - before I got a 5D. Now I use it on my 5D and it trades places occasionally with the 50 1.8. I still really love it as a normal lens on crop though. Focus is really snappy, and it focuses in near dark - way beyond what my eyes are capable to pick out.

Absolutely - can magnify and see eye-lashes and chin-whiskers.
