what part on the dog were you focusing? his face seems a tad oof, but his collar is sharp.

I noticed that while editing, the dog wouldn't sit long and I was able to take only 2 shots before he wasn't having it anymore. I was disappointed when I got it on my computer. I was also at f2 and I should have been up around 2.8 or so. Oh well, I will know better the next time I try something like this.

quick question for you folks... does the lens hood for this lens screw on or clip on?

any suggestions on a lens hood other then the Canon one? Maybe the Pearstone one on B&H's website?
