Has anyone done any tests to see which Compact Flash card is the fastest? I see ads that say one is faster than another but I have not seen any differences.

This test is actually very nicely done :)

Digital Film Comparison: Compact Flash (nice!): http://www.dpreview.com/articles/mediacompare/ (external link)

Just bought a RiData 256MB. I'm glad I did. It's fast enough for the G2, at least for now.

Interesting. Looks like the microdrive is a clear winner (at least at writing speed which is the most important to me)

I brought this very issue up to several Digital Photo magazines and their reply was universally "write speed of the camera is really the determining factor." In retrospect, is it really that important?

In a past life, I used Canon F-1's at 6 and 10 frames per second. Multipule "off" shots simply don't make up for good ones. Composition, exposure control and focus are what really determines a great picture.
