I took this shot today. I kinda like the idea but I feel something is missing from it. Comments please

I like it Paolo, very unique. If you cropped the guy on the right (who needs new shoes) it would create a situation where the object was the only one travelling into the frame, in opposition to everyone else, which may help the shot (however move the object into the centre of the frame which is a compositional no no).

Assuming that the idea is to show the colorful to the uncolorful ... then your problem is lack of equal comparison. The girl is extremely dominate while by contrast the pants are OOF or obscure. You need to give better representation forthe viewer to compare .. i.e. next time shoot from the side so all parties are in focus and treated somewhat equally ...

Excellent composition. If I were to be shooting it over, I would try to get in a bit more of the walkway in the foreground in order to have a bit more foundation on which all of the people are standing - as it is, their feet are too close to the bottom of the frame.

Otherwise, it is a tremendous shot with great interest, excellent exposure and color balance and lighting.

It needs a top half of that girl... i wanna perv! ;)

I like it, and as the others say, I'd get rid of that guy with the carp shoes. That'd make her around dead centre, and would smarten iot up a bit. IMHO!

Your right, I thought it just needed the subject to be more off centered to the left by cropping off the left side a bit, but that didn't do it. I can't put my finger on it, but I too think something is missing.

thanks for all the tips guys! Seefutlong, I totally know what you mean. I first caught this girl standing on the curb next to a bunch of 'normally' dressed people waiting to cross the street. THAT was the shot that I wanted cuz I then they would've all been on the same focal plane. However, it was 1pm and it was busy downtown so I wasn't able to snap a decent picture w/o someone walking into the frame.

oh well ... c'est la vie.

The rest of the girl is missing! :) The colors are also way too saturated - tone them down so the pink is not so neon.
