I shot these last Sunday with the 100-400L and the Canon 1.4x TC. I still have a long way to go to compete with some of the great shots here, but I feel like I'm getting better. f/8 640 Av with a Hoya circular polarizer

One of my favorites birds ... the American Robin. The background is busy, but that's the way wild Maple trees are.

I like them all, but the Robin is special. The sharpest, to me, is the song sparrow.

Thanks guys. Sharpness (focus) is definitely something I'm struggling with. I don't know if it's my eyes or movement, or both, but it's frustrating. Maybe I'll ditch the TC for a bit so I can autofocus. I haven't been able to figure out which pins to tape so it will AF with the TC.
