The 100mm macro is useful for a lot more than just macro work , set up a feeder outside my 3rd story window over the winter, used my monopod and a bent coat hanger hook to get it into the tree.

It offers probably one of the very best optical quality for the dollar.

I'm thinking of going for this lens as well. I was considering using 100mm macro f/2.8 for street photography as well. Looking at some of the examples on this thread, I think I'm going to get this one. I'll make sure I post some samples as well.
