Provided your picture/file conforms to the following restrictions:

format---file size---height---width

gif-------19.5 KB-------800------800
jpeg------100.0 KB------800------800
jpg-------100.0 KB------800------800
png-------100.0 KB------800------800

then in the advanced post/reply section you can upload your files using the dialogue opened when you click on the paperclip (attachments) icon.

you can then select your picture/file using the "browse" dialogue and then press "upload" and bob's your uncle. the picture isn't shown when you "preview post" but when you "submit post" it will be there.

hope this helps, and I look forward to seeing some pictures...

Cheers,

Paul.

It works, although you need to upload the pictures at the size you want to show them in the post:
I use 640x480 pixels most of the time (800x600 pixels is the max size recommended by moderators).
Keep file size to a reasonable bytes count (using ‘save for web’ in Photoshop works great).

In ImageShack, go to | My Images |, select the code from one of the text areas and paste it in your Qwick Reply window.
Below you will see the actual code in blue and the result below it:

Copied from Embeddable Code: Forums:

Copied from Direct: with the URL tags typed at the beginning and at the end of the address:

You get a hyperlink without actually displaying the image:

To display the bare image from the thumbnail, replace the address in url= by the address in Direct:

You can also read the instructions to create attachments in this forum.
Edit: OK, Paul mistergibbon already described how to create an attachment

When you are in the Reply to Thread editor, press "Go Advanced" if necessary, so that you get the mode that includes an additional window below the text editing window called "Additional Options".
You should find on that window a button labeled "Manage Attachments". Press that button, and a "Manage Attachments" window opens that provides controls for browsing your hard drive to find the image file(s) to be uploaded and an "Upload" button. You will also see guidelines for file size limit guidelines for each image file format.
Once the file is uploaded successfully, you can close that window and press the "Submit Reply" button at the bottom of the Additional Options window.
