The answer to all three would be my Sigma AF 70-200mm f/2.8 APO EX HSM, because it's the only third party lens I currently own. :D

Canon EOS 40D w/BG-E2, EF 50mm f/1.4 USM, EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, EF 24-70 f/2.8L USM, Sigma AF 70-200mm f/2.8 APO EX HSM, Canon Speedlite 580EX, Manfrotto 055CB tripod w/486RC2 clone ballhead, Opus OPL-M100 strobe w/45" shoothrough umbrella, Lightrein LR4A strobe w/24"x34" softbox

I own two 3rd party lenses. The most used is my Bigma. The most fun is the Lens Baby!

Thus far many of you are listing similar lenses (most of which are not surprising) like the Sigmas 24-70, 50-500, 70-200, 120-300, 150 Macro; Tamron 28-75; Tokina 12-24. Other excellent ones are represented too though. Good job folks; everyone's playin' by the rules so far. :)

I sort of bent the rules with my 50 comment, but I actually VOTED for third party lenses...

1) Tokina 12-24mm
2) Tokina 12-24mm
3) Tokina 12-24mm

My Sigma 18-125 is a solid lens, that's quite sharp and has a useful range, but the Tokina is top notch, and I use it much more than the Sigma.

1) Close call between the Sigma 70-200 and 10-20, but I think over time the 70-200 will get used more. This place may get taken by a Sigma 17-70 soon.....maybe.....am i disqualified for saying that?
2) Sigma 70-200
3) Sigma 10-20

1) My most used 3rd party lens is Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro
2) My most eye-popping/sharpest 3rd party lens is Carl Zeiss Sonnar 135mm f/3.5 Sonnar (don't know about sharpest but it has eye-popping bokeh that's for sure :))
3) My most fun/creative 3rd party lens is Peleng 8mm f/3.5 - I need to figure out how to focus it properly hahaha

Take some test shots on your Peleng with various focus points, and alternate the distance from the subject as well. I have found on mine that "M" is the sharpest point, no matter how close or how far the subject is from the lens. I just leave it at M, use 5.6 or 8 for the aperture, and fire away in Tv mode.

Yeah, sorry to break the rules but from my limited expierience with photography and with my Uncle's fairly vast experience. (with whom i speak of about photography on a near daily basis and who has had decades of experience) We dont agree on everything but on this we do, you should always buy the BEST glass you can. Think about it, what does the camera do? It records the image in front of it. What provides that image? The Lense.

So, which is better, using a lense that has been specifically designed by pros for their camera. Or a mass-produced lense that has just been designed to fit Many camera's? Third party lenses are bad IMO. I had one with my Minolta Film Camera and i hate it. If you want quality photos stick with good lenses byt the manufacturer of your camera. I dont think you should buy 3rd party just cause they are cheaper (which is why most people by them) be patient, save your money and go Canon. :D

My 2 Cents.

When i say 3rd party here i mean companies like Tokina, Tamron, etc. Carl Zeiss, well that's probably a nice lense, Still think if you own Canon you should stick to Canon though. Just my opinion ;)

Sorry for breaking the rules, i really am. Just had to mention it. Please dont hurt me, lol

Have you ever used a GOOD 3rd party lens such as the Sigma 120-300, Sigma 24-70 or even the Tamron 28-75 ( both are extremely close to the 24-70L ).

In my experience, when I used a 24-70L, I did not see how it was worth the kind of money it is. Sure the build quality was nice ( lens barrel still played around though ) but it still wasn't any better optically than my Sigma 24-70.

Canon makes some awful lenses too, just like ANY manufacture.

Well i agree with you, i am not saying that Canon is Infallible. But look at the pro's, they dont use 3rd party (as far as i know). Just my opinion... Everyone is entitled to at least one, lol :D
