I have a pretty nice backpack already which is waterproof and has everything i need etc. I will normally bring my DSLR body and then two lenses (the 18-55mm and my 50mm) or (the 18-55mm and my 70-210mm lense) so i don't want to buy a backpack that is just for cameras/lenses cause I dont really need it.
Someone told about Zing carrying cases and I found them on B & H. I just need padding for my body (with my lense attached) as i already have a soft carrying case for my other lenses.

so has anyone had any experince with these Zing "Neoprene SLR Covers"?

I'm still using my Zing from my film cam. I got the Pro SLR model so i can fit any body with Grip. Hugs the body really well and the material is like a wet suit. Will protect body from light bumps and scratches. Worth it IMO for a cheap investment. If you have a Grip, get the Pro model and let us know how it goes. I'm also interested in the Pro Zoom for my 70-200.

I have one, Pro SLR model, not the longer zoom model. Works great for a body and grip plus a reasonable prime or short zoom.

Covers everything nicely with about 1/4" of neoprene. Great for tossing in the car or dufflebag.

I believe I tried it and got it to fit over the 24-70mm but it was tight - and you can forget about the hood.

I didn't like having to stretch that strap over the lens like that. felt like I was putting undue stress on the mount. I'd rather get a small toploader.

I don't think it would cause any harm, but you're right - I wouldn't want to be doing that all day long.

It's snug, it's secure and it's nicely padded. It'll get you from A to B, but if you plan on stopping at C, D, E and F to take pictures... Leave it at home. Too much hassle. For one thing, it has to be ENTIRELY removed to use the camera! It even comes with a strap to attach to your regular camera strap, so it can dangle.

I use mine if I just plan on bringing my camera and shorter lens and don't want anything else. Wrap it in the Zing, toss it in any ol' backpack and go.
