Image 1 - focus is in the wrong spot without supporting DoF.
Whats the background?

Image 2 - In CA, the smoking would probably be a negitive message and you could possilbly lose business since you seem to communicate this place caters to smokers; hence, non smokers will go somewhere else. Perhaps a PDA or laptop instead?
Number 2 is much better from a communication stand point. The backgound speaks volumes. Focus is on brand name.

What are these for? Product shots, Advertising or just an exercise.
