Anyone has an idea of when will that lens be available in the UK? What sort of price do we expect? I'd say somewhere around £600.

I am looking to get a decent quality stardard zoom to my 20D and was hoping it could fit the bill.

Thanks - oooff..that is a lot for an EF-S. At that price level one would expect an L league picture quality. anyone aware of a review?

Have not found any reviews only "preview" artiles which are the press release from canon saying how great the lens is. Found it in the states for $1295.00 USD.

im goin by the specs of the lens. 17-55, and that 2.8 aperture runs the whole way from 17-55. add IS, and USM, and youve got a sweet lens.

If you don't need 2.8 constant, you could get a (highly regarded) lens such as the Sigma 17-70. It doesn't have IS though. I guess this lens is really for very low light zooming.

The one thing im sick of hearing is "oh, no lens hood! no, wheres my lens hood? i cant have a sand free vagina without a lens hood!" GO TO RITZ PAY & PAY 7 DOLLARS FOR ONE AND STOP COMPLAINING. if you paid 1200 for the lens, whats a few bucks more?

PLUS..ive heard about the vignetting problem with this lens, adding a lens hood will make it worse, no?

Just got an email that these are now available at B&H for shipping. Don't want to know about vaginas.
