The camera for all of these was Canon 20D. Most of these except for the first one were shot with a Canon 100-400 L IS lens. Shutter speeds were actually pretty slow, anywhere between 1/80 and 1/200 for the most part. Apperture is as wide as the lens would allow which on this lens is anywhere from 4.5 to 5.6. The image stabilization on the lens and the fact that most of these birds are very close allows for the slow shutter speeds otherwise these would all be very blurry. I had a camera mounted flash and since the birds were fairly close I turned the flash power way down. The problem with the big lenses for Butterfly World is that they need anywhere from 4-6 feet to focus and this place is fairly tight so you don't always have enough room to back up. If I go back I will need to pickup some extension tubes for these lenses to be able to focus at closer distances.
Thanks,
Ovi
