Took this on our recent cruise. I loved the view and wanted a permanent reminder.
Rebel XT, manual mode, kit lens, ship rail as "triipod" and held my breath.
What do you think

I took a quick look at the exif. 2.5 second shutter is probably too slow. I've done boat shots like this before and the thing you need to remember is that even though you feel like the boat is steady, it is probably moving a bit. You can see this from the double lampost right at the bottom of the shot. Next time, try cranking up the ISO and try to go for a quicker shutter speed. I really like how the sky came out. Marc

Titus213 Cream of the Crop More info | Apr 17, 2006 21:41 | #7 Even with the kit lens you could also bring the f-stop down to 3.5 at 18mm rather than f5.6. That would give you a bit more shutter speed too. You definitely have to go back and re-shoot. Dave
