Took these this weekend over at my hubby's grandma's house. I've been waiting for spring and with some early spring flowers lacking in my own garden (except for the daffodils of course) I photographed a few in hers ... the sun was setting so the bright spots are from the flash. I like how they turned out tho...wish I could have gotten close but that's what happens when you still shoot with a kit lens I guess (getting a new one in the next few weeks tho).
Played around a little with saturation and contrast in PS.

edited to upload larger size.

No....lol...not that bad...its just that so many people opt to view and not post commments...I figure that if we want critiques on work then its only fair that we take the time to critique other posters work also...
I like the first shot, but would like to see it fill more of the frame...its a lovely colour and I don't even mind that you can see the flash 'bounce'...
I think you have played around a little too much (or not enough) with the second shot...its sort of in between arty and not....I'd personally play a bit more to try and give it a real arty feel...it certainly has potential.

The first shot is nice but I agreed with Bindii that filling the frame is nicer. The red and the green blur background contrast each other nicely.

I think you did a good job in post processing

I do post comments, not so much in this forum seeing I rarely go out to shoot nature pictures. But when I see something I like or something that I think I can offer good comments on I do post.

Thanks. Yeah should probably have filled more of the frame...I'll try that next time too.
Probably over played the second one. ;o) I wanted deep dark colors on it. I'll play some more and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the comments.

nice compositions but im assuming you are using flash which is creating some distracting hilights... that and your saturation is boosted a bit high. Otherwise i like them

Yup as stated in the OP, the bright spots are from the flash, the sun was setting hence the flash...next time I'm gonna try it in broad daylight and see if I can get a better result. And the saturation was intentional, I wanted rich colors.
