I was at Mud Lake (Britannia Conservation) area today and there were at least 200 turtles sunning themselves. They were mainly Painted but I did see a couple of Blandings which are endangered. Unfortunately the Blandings were too far away to get a clean shot of them.

Nice photos! I especially like the first. The detail in the second is great but I like the context and composition of the first.

I especially like the composition in the first shot Stephen. Nice colors and detail with my only nit being the hot spot on the shell ,rear right.

Thanks Mike. I was quite pleased with the composition myself.

Thanks for your comments Gary. I agree about the hot spot. I should have darkened the spot a touch. Sorry we didn't meet up yesterday. I hope that things are fine at home now.

Hi Stephen; Was fun good getting out with you the other day. (sorry for being so late)
Nice capture here, with great composition and lines. First photo's a great "Classic" turtle image. What I love best; is the posturing (Look at that neck stretch) by the one on the right, telling the Other guy "Hey This Is My Log, get your own piece somewhere else".

Regards.

Both nice, but the first is very good. The composition works well...I like the one that is climbing out of the water.

Thanks BB. The reflection is sun. The shot was taken around 11:30 a.m.

Thanks Dan. I did like the composition as well. I've looked several times at the right hand turtle. It seems to me that it may be missing its left rear leg. Normally you can see at least the claws tucked up under the shell.
