Rock'N Roller Coaster

Here are two shots taken last month at MGM Studios in Florida, both of which 'felt good' in the camera, but the end result didn't meet the expectation. Any comments regarding how to make these types of shots better would be much appreciated. (I'm thinking I need an UWA lens )

Hi Scott - This is my first post, I was interested in your shots as I am heading to Disney in a couple weeks. These pictures look great, although I was wondering what the first one would be like without the people, I find the guy in the blue especially distracting!!

nice job...but why not just get rid of all the people? now I find that one person a bit distracting....

All in all AWESOME SHOTS - I especially like the second one w/ that dynamic track coming out at you.

Scott, I like the changes you've made, (including removing the light in the upper left corner), and I think the person you left sitting in front gives the shot some perspective. In fact, I like these pictures so much, I just booked my trip to WDW today!

I like the second one best. Makes it seem like it just keeps going forever. Any particular reason you used f/22? Was it for Wide DOF? Just curious and trying to learn.

Yes thats right. I really wanted the entire track to remain in focus, as well as the detail on the guitar, so thats the reason for f/22. The picture is deceiving in that the distance between the leading edge of the guitar and the end of the track is probably about 100'. Thanks for your comments.

Yes, its my favourite coaster at WDW (in the dark, double looping, Aerosmith music etc), however 'California Screaming' at Disneyland is even better!
