I have problems with the thumb screw loosening throught the day, then that million dollar shot ( yea right) doesnt happen !!!!!!!!!
Anybody have contact with Cannon, a simple friction rachet would do the trick.

Not that this helps, but I never had this problem with my 20D and grip. I would call canon on it as this is unacceptable.

I've noticed that mine will loosen just a touch over the course of a few days so I just check it from time to time and sinch it up but if it is loosening up enouch to break the electrical contact every day I'd call Canon on it.
