Just got this lens because of this wonderful thread. I'm just a casual shooter so an ultra-wide above $500 is not even an option

I ended up using it quite a bit when I was in Norway last August -- I didn't use my 17-55 as much during that trip. In other trips, especially a winter sunrise trip to Zermatt, I needed IS (I didn't have a tripod) and so chose the tighter but steadier 17-55.
