I know some of y'all use neutral density and graduated neutral density filters with this lens. What size? Anyone want to tell me how much cokin P size filters will vignette?

Just got this lens because of this wonderful thread. I'm just a casual shooter so an ultra-wide above $500 is not even an option:D. I bought this used. Here's the shot I took today to test the lens.

Recently acquired version 2 of this lens and I am quite happy with it. The below were taken with 60D and are all HDRs.

Does anyone use this as a walk-around lens? I feel like this would work very well for that because all I have are the kits lens and the nifty fifty, and the nifty's focal length seems so long.

you might have more luck with a 17-50 range lens as a walk around

12-24 can be wide for a walkaround, but it depends on what you're doing. I ended up using it quite a bit when I was in Norway last August -- I didn't use my 17-55 as much during that trip. In other trips, especially a winter sunrise trip to Zermatt, I needed IS (I didn't have a tripod) and so chose the tighter but steadier 17-55.

These both from the Tokina (click for larger):

I think this lens use as a walk-around depends on where you're walking around !
In these deep sandstone canyons, it works well. Here's one at 12mm.

Do you guys find this wide enough on crop sensor starting at 12mm or do you wish you went wider?

Getting my first wide angle and torn between a few options, but certainly considering this.
