Do you guys find this wide enough on crop sensor starting at 12mm or do you wish you went wider?

Getting my first wide angle and torn between a few options, but certainly considering this.

do you shoot at 2.8? Everyone loves the 11-16 from tokina. It's just an option :)

I couldn't justify the higher cost of the Canon or 11-16 given how often I was planning to use the lens, so for me 12-24 is fine. There have been a few instances where going a little wider would have been nice, but I can't remember what exactly they were if that sheds light on how critical 1 or 2 extra mm would have been!

I just purchased the lens used for 220euros. I like it very much. It;s sharp, with saturated colors and the perspective at 12mm makes images interesting. It's flaring, as the sun is always into the frame, and is a bit fat and heavy but i am not complaining!
It stays mostly @12mm

Anyone ever use this lens on any of the 5D's? I know that you can only use 16-18mm or up, but I 'm curious if anyone has any examples. I'm finally going to move to a full frame and was hoping I could get away with using this at 18mm for a little while when I need something wide.

I did use it on a EOS 630 film camera. I have not finished the roll yet, but it works without hitting the mirror. At 12mm there is strong vignetting that disappears from 15mm.

Just picked up this lens from another member for 350 shipped... So far I think it is sharper than the Sigma 10-20 I had. Not as wide and the difference from 20-24 isn't that much really but the constant F4 is very nice! First photo I took with it here...
