I was birding at Anahuac Wildlife Refuge east of Houston when this guy caught my eye. 400mm lens hand held at f5.6, 1/500, ISO 200. Crop at 100%.

Nice shot. I just posted one very similar to it just a few days ago. I like your composition a little better though...mine was sitting on a chain link fence.

You don't see these guys in the wild back home (Southwest Missouri) but i see them all the time in Texas.

Wow you have a steady hand. I just got a monopod the other day and took it out for the first time over lunch yesterday and couldn't get a shot that steady. sigh....
