So, this is what I got few weeks ago:

30d
17-40 f/4L
EF 70-200 f/4L
EF 50 f/1.8
B+W 77 mm circular polarizer MRC filter
B+W 77 mm UV Haze MRC Filter
B+W 67 mm UV Haze MRC Filter
B+W 67 mm to 77 mm step-up ring
B+W 52 mm to 55 mm step up ring
1 GB ultra II Compact Flash Card, 2 X 2gb cards
Large Giottos Air Blower
Lowepro Sling Shot 200 AW camera bag

There were some posters questioning some of my choices, i. e. lack of tripod and flash on the list and too many filters. Since I got my camera two weeks ago I have been spending all my free time learning and reading and just enjoying my new camera.

Today I ordered few missing items:

Canon EF 100 f/2.8 :) with hood and filters since I just planted 200+ annuals in my backyard and I want to take photos of them

Canon EF 50 f/1.4 :D - just because ........... with hood

Canon 430EX Flash - I may need it one of these days

Bogen/Manfrotto 3021BPRO Tripod with 488RC2 Midi Ballhead - I needed one better than the one I have

BG-E4 Grip - everybody said I needed to have it

and, Pelican 1510 hard case with paddled dividers - to store all this wonderful stuff.

I cannot wait to go home every day to play with my new toys,

m

And post pictures.

How about the kit lens, you've missed that. :D
Great toys, lots of L's, not one 50 but two, wow. Enjoy!

That's a GREAT setup you've got there!

The flash and tripod will definitely help round out the kit. The Pelican case is killer - it doesn't get any better when it comes to protecting your gear. But... You might want to consider a more "walkaround friendly" bag as well. Doesn't need to hold everything - just your camera and lens, maybe an extra lens or two and a flash.

I think your filters are fine - and you made some smart choices. UV filters on the lenses, a large CPL and rings so you can share it with the other lenses.

What? You mean money does grow on trees? My father always used to tell me money doesn't grow on trees. And I thought he was a truth teller. Shame on him:)

PS: Forget the seeds, I want some clippings from that tree.

Nice set up.
I'd consider just getting a 77mm CPL and no other filter.
Also consider a grip and an extra battery.

When you get the chance, post some pictures of your Pelican 1510 gear configuration.

Congrats. That is a superb list. I wish I had so much freedom to shop. But I have to say, I'm not unhappy it's you and not me. I'd have to eat Cherrios for about a year to get just the 30D. ;)

Wrong grip??? oh, no. Let me check really fast. Oh, yes, you are correct.

Thank you so much for noticing my error, unfortunately B&H is closed. Send them an e-mail. Hope they will see it before processing my order.

Thanks again,

m
