This is an old one shot on film... I am still going through and digitizing my old stuff. It is one of my favorites from the film days. Shot with a cheap camera and cheap lens. Sorry about the file size, it would only compress so much.

I too am not big on putting things in the center, But to me the lines are the shot. Neat shot I like it.

I try to keep stuff out of the center too, but it does occasionally work. I like this as is, but it would also work if the converging tracks could lead you to the men. What, you couldn't get them to move the fire? <just kidding>

Hi all... yep, they are smack dang in the middle. If you look closely they were setup to so another weld just behind them on the left. It would have been nice to capture as well but I snapped this on the way to a meeting in downtown Seattle, and couldn't hang around. But like mentioned too, what I like about this shot is the lines of the rail.

Thanks for looking and your comments and suggestions.

I like it as it is, and the lines are actually the main subject to my eye, the guys just compliment them. I was reading the other day about choosing phony subjects to basically compliment the real subject. Those guys stood on tarmac would have been dull. It's the lines

I don't know what good composition is.... Sometimes for me composition has to do with a certain brightness or a certain coming to restness and other times it has to do with funny mistakes. There's a kind of rightness and wrongness and sometimes I like rightness and sometimes I like wrongness. Diane Arbus

Does this help reduce some of the contention on the subject matter?

I love the organic quality and texture of film. The color one is fantastic!

Thanks all... perhaps I will have to crank the old enlarger up and try to do a real B/W of this one. Hope I can remember how to do it right. Thanks all for looking.

Cheers
