Well Seany's telling us to just shoot so why not ... it's not like he had a gun in that side-saddle

Hahahah go on there Dave, Nice one lol

I don't know what good composition is.... Sometimes for me composition has to do with a certain brightness or a certain coming to restness and other times it has to do with funny mistakes. There's a kind of rightness and wrongness and sometimes I like rightness and sometimes I like wrongness. Diane Arbus

Tell you what Dave, this would be a good thread to show all those eye contact shots we all get.

Be better to put that as a separate thread in the 'People' section I reckon. I'd also put clear boundaries about 'candid/eye contact' or there'll be a million snotty babies featured!

Did you notice the lens son? Hard to have a more in your face range than that beauty ;-)a I had a nice chat with this guy and his mate actually. The guy above had a 1600cc Victory and the mate a 600cc Yamaha Drag Star. I promised to send them some shots and took their email. I just PP'd 4 for them. Easy! They let me take several shots of the bikes 'in context' for my Jewellery Quarter project.

I dunno one end of a bike from another but I do appreciate the idea of biking, i.e. a 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycling' style thing, and the possibility! Be great for my big Aussie trip next year. Rubbish off road tho and you can't sleep in it and it would be boiling hot. Oh well ... maybe not so good ;-)a Here's his mate:

I'm much the same mate, i love bikes but i don't know anything about them. Diane actually had one for six months looked quite foxy lol. But the hole getting ready just to go to work ect soon became a drag for her. Shame really

Yeah mate, i only have to look at the photo to see that your wide there. All the better for it mate. It is good for the spirit when you strike up a conversation with subjects. Nice ending

Well done mate, like it

Funny thing is Marky that shot was taken at the end just to capture the name of the bike that was on the tank. Didn't even put my eye to the camera; just pointed it in the general direction and clicked

It's a nice shot, Dave. Do you know the biker?

Nice shot but bikers don't wear full face helmets and often have questionable hygiene standards, this guy is a motorcyclist.

;)

Sometimes it is better to be lucky then good. One of my favorite shots this year was when I thought I was sitting in a lousy location for a shot and decided to kill sometime waiting for the next event, and it turned out one of those shots was superb... accidently... couldn't reproduce it if I had to.

Its just a good shot.. a guy and his bike waiting on his mates. All kinds of stories could be contained in this shot. To me, the best urban shots are those that a story can come from. For example, there are plenty of shots of the homeless person sleeping in x location.... they are so obvious.... to few beg the question why this person, here, and why now? Anyway, I ramble...... still like the shot. cheers.

Nah ... just caught them both there together. They were nice guys.

Ta Gerhard ... you are probably right of course. Their hygiene seems fine but I didn't actually check closely, so there is still a chance they were undercover bikers

Agreed ... and so hard to capture a shot like that. Sean is offering some solid advice about engaging in the areas around a subject and maybe we each need to just take it in our own time. Or, just take it ;-)a
