Thanks for the nice comments. It really is pretty up there, you just have to get the timing right as far as the weather and bloom is concerned.

All shots are handheld as I was smart enough to bring my tripod but stupid enough to leave the quick release latch that actually hooks up to the camera at home.

Here's a couple more.

It's actually an annual event.

They sell bulbs for you to plant at home. You can order these online and they will ship to you. Not sure if your climate is suitable for it, though. But if you contact these folks, they should be able to tell you what to do.

If you are able to grow them there, they are beautiful. Just keep the cows away.:)

Love the colors and the background area the fields are in. Well done.

HA! Here is THE definitive tulip festival: http://www.tuliptime.com/ (external link)

:p:D

It's actually the biggest "small town" festival in the country. Real Dutch dancers in wooden shoes and everything.

Anyway...

The first picture with the tractor is the winner of the bunch. That's a GREAT photo!

Beautiful shots, and the tractor shot is very creative. I've visited that area, but not at the right time for tulip blooms. Maybe someday.

Just a wonderful series! My daughter lives in Seattle and I always intend to get to the Skagit Valley this time of year but have yet to make it.
