Not sure if it's appropriate to post here but I do have a personal/development server (surprisingly rock solid actually). It hosts my personal web page and my friends' web pages and currently only uses a shear fraction of the allotted bandwidth usage per month.

If you guys run a personal web site (or a photo gallery of your work) and pay a monthly fee, feel free to PM me. I am willing to offer a dozen or so hosting accounts for POTN members. There is no catch (although I'd appreciate a link back but not required).

Otherwise, if you need a commercial solution, I'd be more than happy to make some recommendations for your needs.

Thanks.

Are images hosted on Flickr open to general public? Is there levels of sharing?

I just set up a site freewebs.com They offer free and fee based sites. Easy to set up ,They limit bandwidth and I think the free option limits you to 100 photos, but they have a large variety of templates and allow multiple albums and pages. They are worth checking out.

No. There is no file size limit on this end for embedded images.
There is still the image size limit of 1024 pixels max.

I'm looking for a hosting site with the following features:
- free
- not limited to 1 pic a day
- conserves the original without downgrade (photobucket fails here)
- easy to access for everyone (piccasa fails here, asks visitors to be member)
- high storage capacity (Canon's site fails here, only 100 or 200 Mb per registration, I'm too lazy to cheat them)

Any suggestion or am I asking too much?

Did you check the list of free sites in the first post here?

I've already registered in too many sites, just to find out that they fail in some of the points. I don't want to waste any more time registering and filling my email account of useless stuffs, specially when some of them already appear in my list of bad sites.

May be I'm asking too much for a free site.

Maybe they should send you free prints too.:p Yeah, I think you are asking too much. Pbase is only $23 a year.
