Took this picture recently in Sao Miguel Azores. Looking for some advise on taking better pictures.

Bookmarks Member 60 posts Joined Oct 2005 More info | In Photoshop you can use Image->Adjustments->Shadow/Hightlights to lighten the dark shadows where you've lost details. Your original seems to have plenty of details so slight sharpening is optional. You have foreground, midground and background elements in your shot which gives the image a sense of depth and dimension, which is good. However, if you want the viewer to focus on the waterfall, the foreground element on the right seems to compete for attention.
