Lovely work Ricardo, I like the composition a lot in this.

Thank you all so much, I appreciate the comments. I took some shots after this but the sky was darkening rapidly and I just couldn't bring up that lovely glow...so this was my favourite shot.

Growing old disgracefully!

Randy, is that a red-tailed hawk? I like it, he looks regal.

Ricardo, absolutely perfect moon.
Dave, I really need to find some owls. At least to give to my mom who is the fan.

I'll go and bring the kids, I think AJ has been at the zoo once and it was at night for Christmas lights or something.

It is a beautiful bird, isn't it?

It's a Sparrow hawk. I was getting a glass of water and saw him out on the deck rail.

So that's pretty much uncropped? Lucky you to get them so close. Nice pose and softening. Your model deserves a mouse.

Yup - no cropping needed. I agree ... it was pretty lucky to have him so close. A nice plump mouse is a good idea. :)

Just testing the 300 f/4L with the 1.4x extender Mk II on a 7d
Seems like a sharp combination for an equivalent focal length of 680mm
