From what I hear the Oracle team may have the edge now that they're restricting the wind conditions the boats sail in. Shame really, as our guys were going great in the stronger wind.

That's a great shot....hard to imagine a yacht that size capable of 40 knots, isn't it!

I went out today because the Oracle guys were going to have both boats in the water but all I got was this. Apparently, the gull thought it was funny but I didn't.

Man, that's a great bit of video! It looked amazing passing on the other side of those cruising yachts...different technologies, different worlds!

You don't really get a feeling for the speed until you see something like that. Does the AC interest you Ricardo? I know I'll be trying to get more of the fuzzy green fruit guys in that black boat, one of my friends hails from NZ and I get pics for him. I've also been invited on a photo boat when the series starts.

Yes I'm really interested in the AC, although it will never be as exciting from a sailors point of view as it was with the AC class boats where they crossed tacks so close and really fought for strategic position. These big cats are spectacular, but the races where Oracle took the cup from Alinghi were really dead boring by comparison. I was in Newport RI when the Aussies won in 1983 and have followed it closely since. My own racing though has been off-shore single-handed stuff...much less technical in those days I have to say. Hell, I was using a sextant to navigate with!
