Took in an airshow for the first time in 20 years this weekend - will not be waiting that long for the next one ever again! What a great event!

Ken not so long ago I mentioned I have not seen an owl in the wild except in the zoo.

The wait is over got lucky on the of day 06 Aug went to see the juvenile Eagle in our local park while there I heard some crows making noise so I went over to find out what is going then at the start of the trail I saw this Barred Owl perched in the small branch. I was really surprised and did flew right away when he/she saw me..

Peter - what a fantastic find! Great shots, and I'm amazed you even spotted that little fellow, as his camouflage is perfect! Great find and capture. The great owl - elusive no more!

Thank you Ken. That day was really special as I about to go home it turned out to be a special day.

I guess that was Abbotsford, I was almost tempted to go up there since the government in their wisdom shut down all the shows down here. Nice vapors.
Luckily I saw the Canadian snowflake F18 in SF last year, go Canada!

Thank you, and yes, Abbotsford. There was quite a bit of talk about how the budget cuts would affect airshows, particularily the Abbotsford meet. Happy to say it was a great event. Hopefully the financial impact the omission of the US contingents have will bring about a way to return many of them to the shows. A sad loss to have such great displays and talent missing.
