I don't own it, but am thinking about it vs spending mucho extra $$$ for the 300 f/2.8. I don't see how the background in your shots could be much smoother- they looks superb and the sharpness is great. It doesn't seem worthwhile to me right now to spend an extra 5-6K for that 2.8 aperture when I'd be shooting mostly in decent light conditions anyway.

Thanks to you DJ and everyone else for all your great shots, you really have me thinking about this lens right now....!
