Need some fast comments on this, please tell me anything that hurts this photo and anything that could make it better... i'm thinking of entering it in a contest soon so i need to know quick

also how do the colors look? i don't have my monitor professionally calibrated and the contest requires a 12x18 print

He's hurting for sure. The matadore is a bit out of focus or suffering motion blur I think. Colors look OK. I hope there aren't any PETA folks around...

I'd be more concerned about the focus issue than the gore. The gore is real. The matadore is probably in better focus in real life.

The lighting in this scene is a little flat, but the exposure and color balance seem to be fine.

The composition is very good.

I cannot tell whether or not there is a blur or focus issue here, but if there is it is not real obvious.

If your original has 5 megapixels or better, you will have at least 150 dpi, which ought to be good enough for a juried show.

I'm a newbie too but aside from the focus being a bit off, you've captured the intense cruelty of spearing an innocent herbivore with 3 javalins quite well.

(not a PETA supporter).

Great composition. The guy is a little more out of focus than I'd be happy w/ and I think that Thornfield's version has a little too much red in it, but that's just me (and my monitor)
