Well it is Lighting related anyway.
Did you ever wonder how the movies do it?

Came across this web surfing. Behind the scene shot on Pirates of the Carribean 2. Just wanted to share.

No matter how slow the film, Spirit always stands still long enough for the photographer It has chosen. Minor White

No they cant. I've beeen in the movie business for several years and very often, especially when you have a large crew and costly actors (usually the crew is paid per day/week), plus locations, equipment and props rental, the cost of "rebuilding" something can be much less that waiting. Condsider that atmy times (1990 the last thing I've done) a large production costed easily 2/300K USD per day. One day lost "waiting, non suspending, inthat case costs are cut down), and the production is loosing big money. One week lost, and the production begins having problems. 3 weeks stop and the production is close to broke.

Plus, there is a motto at least in the movie industry here, that says "in a movie, the most real things are the fake ones" :)

Lightpanels (external link)

I can use it with a light bank, strobes, natural light...etc...etc... basically on location shoot where high noon gives too much contrast. I have 3 so that way I can have it setup like a large tent.

For example. at a beach shoot I will have one set to diffuse the light from the sun, and top one to decrease shadow from above, and another panel on the opposite side with a soft gold panel. Or use a xlarge softbox with internal silver/gold shooting through a translucent panel... just depending how much contrast I want.

On a cloudy day I will set it up as a tent, and one side I will have a black panel so I can bring out some depth to the subject.... (negative lighting)

There are many uses for panels.
