Hi, this is my first post here. I just bought a rebel xt around two days ago and have been browsing the forums ever since. it seems like a great community with lots of insight and expertise. i am a bit overwhelmed by the ammount there is to learn, and quite honestly the price of a hobby (or profession) such as this. anyway, i've been spending the last several days getting around using my first slr. i've been using the manual mode most of the time since it seems to help me learn the most. i took some shots outdoors, which appear to work best with the kit lens and here's what i came up with.

comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. hopefully i didn't break any rules, the pictures are all under 800 pixels.

thanks

Your photos show you have a good eye, I think you will be great at photography. The greens are so beautiful in the first shot, and I love the b&w one too, only I would straighten it up a bit.

your second and fourth shot are very well composed and are quite sharp. I agree the second should be rotated slightly clockwise but otherwise it is great. keep shooting and you'll do great!
