Any chance of canon coming up with a 135mm 2.0L with IS?? They should add IS to this lens, I can see a real use for it like shooting at 1/60th for example. Any idea of future IS developments regarding IS. a DO 135mm 2.0L Stubby with IS would be even better :)

Maybe, but it will add weight, and that lens is usually in a studio setting with a tripod.

I don't have any problem shooting hand-held with my 135. I would say it might be possible that a future 135L have IS added simply because Canon recently released 28 and 35 non-L lenses with IS. I don't understand the need for IS in those shorter focal lengths however.

Mine has never seen a studio. It's an excellent lens for concerts and other events.

I'vebheard Sigma might be in the works of a 135 1.8 with OS. That might be a killer lens as most likely the price won't be out of reach, unlike if Canon decides to re-release the 135L with IS.

Every lens, no matter the focal length benefits from IS. Ever try shooting inside a church hand held?

Did this thread really get revived after 11 years? And yes… I'd love a 135L with IS.

It's just another optical group for light to be refracted through...

I shoot mine handheld at 1/60 no problem.

Carry around a 3lb+ lens and I find it easy to go back to a light prime.

Doesn't seem to have hurt the 24 IS. Fantastic image quality.

I don't believe you can get consistent tack sharp images with a 135mm lens shot at 1/60.

Ohhh, but look at the 24 f/1.4 II. Amazing quality for a wide angle prime.

Sure you can. It's all about positioning and practice.

24mm-24mm, constant f/1.4 aperture. Pretty awesome stuff.
