Just MHO. :)

There are some "hot spots" that are quite distracting in the cloud pictures. Cloud #3 has the most interesting formation.

It's hard to identify the subject in the spring photo. As a viewer, i'm not sure where to land my attention.

"Nature Young" is the best among the photos you've posted in this thread. The subject stands out nicely from the background and i like the color contrast. Perhaps a little more room in front of the blossoming bud would help, composition wise.

Well I am basically a newbie too but I figured I would give my opinion.

Clouds are a cool idea, but to me there seems to be something missing. I guess it works as an abstract type shot, but I would like to see a clear subject.

Same problem with #2 (I do believe its spring). Seems to be lacking a subject and no clear idea of what you are taking the shot of.

Nature Young is a good idea and I see where you are going with it. I think a tad more DOF would have helped, maybe get the middle of the bud in focus also.

Seems like you have the technical and artist ability to be a great photog. But after 3 months I think it would be very early to expect much. You are on a distinguished road, have fun and don't put to much emphasis on "how good people think you are". Just shoot for yourself, it will all come together. At least that is my outlook for myself.

Well, at first I was thinking "This nehpets person is certainly a better photographer than mathematician," then I figured what you mean by 3. It's early, and I could be having a slow start today. The 4th sky is a repositioning of the 3rd, but I like the 3rd better ~more dramatic. My favorite is the 2nd of Nature's Young. The blurred background light is a big part of the overall affect, without being a distraction. I also agree with savone regarding the DOF, and everything else.

I find the cloud shots uninteresting. I'd like to see more than just the clouds in the shot since the clouds don't hold enough interest for me.

The tree shot is too 'busy" as doesn't have a defined subject. And I don't like the wide crop on the "nature's young". Just my opinion. Keep shooting!

If your gonna go all abstract with the clouds add some neon filter or do something totally wacko, andy warhol-ish. They aren't exciting enough for me without some kick. And that is saying something coming from a guy living in Asia who hasn't seen a solitary well-defined cloud in 2 years. Also, the third and fourth cloud foramation are too similar. The blackness sort of tilts the picture too far to the right. Maybe moving #4 to the beginning of the sequence might help.

#2 I like and I don't know why. My first instinct would be to suggest that next time you wait for the sun and above and byond that you might have done well to use a shallower DOF just to keep the atttention more on that first really beautiful branch.

I don't really understand #3 but I love the bud on the left. It is really pretty and the DOF makes it cool to look at. Taking everything else out and using just a larger picture of that would be great.

You are a good photographer. Better than anyone I know personally and a hell of a lot more creative than I am. I would have thrown out number 1, walked by number 2, and made a boring single flower shot of number 3. That's why I suck.
