And No it's not resizing, it's me. I tend to over saturate and over sharpen. I like the Sat. but could back off the unsharp mask here. THANK YOU for your input, it is much appreciated.

It kinds of adds another level of interest to the picture with the bright colours. Second pic seems a lot sharper and you can see all the petal details. The touch-up is 100% better than the first one. Stop or I'll Shoot!

Probably the worst thing I could say about this image is that the patch of bone white is a little distracting. As a personal preference, I like the DOF to be a bit deeper, but the softness of the back half doesn't bother me that much. I like it - congratulations! Hi Bob, WOW THANK YOU. I agree with you on the white window frame is distracting. I was trying to get the little thingy(i don't like to call it a thingy, but I don't know what it is called) in the middle to be in focus, explains why back half is OOF. I kinda over PS it, but it was better then the original.

Apr 28, 2006 14:11 | #11 And I'd do a bit more repair work on the petal. I didn't get the sharpening right either (i'm afraid it'll take a bit of effor to save it in that regard) but here's what I mean:

Apr 28, 2006 18:59 | #15 Hey, you've got to start somewhere. The more you use it, the more techniques you'll pick up. Photoshop is a pretty complicated and feature rich program. Most photographers I know only use a fraction of its capabilities. If you're interested, I think this may be a good read for you:
