I'm still in the "getting used to" and testing phase on the new 600 f4 that I got about a week ago. I was out tonight and it was nearing sunset time and found a mother fox closely guarding her den of what looks to be about 5 or 6 pups. I decided to try and stack the teleconverters. This is taken with the 2.0 and the 1.4. The exif registers as 1200mm but it doesn't take into account the 1.4 on the setup. If my math is correct his works out to be an effective focal length of 2184mm (1200 x 1.4tc x 1.3 crop factor on 1dmkii).

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Wow, that's some big focal length. Nice shot. As a matter of interest foxes are vermin in Australia and kill the smaller native animals. Wildlife authorities lay poison baits for them.

Yep. Pests (but still gorgeous... as long as you don't get close enough to smell them!)

It's also illegal to rear their kittens for pets or if you find an injured one (or an older kitten), they MUST be handed in to a pound or vet to be euthanased.

And they claim the TC bring down the IQ of a lens...

Nice detail...I wonder how much detail (if any) was lost due to the TC's?

Wouldn't it be 1680mm? (1.4*2)*600 That is still quite a distance.

1680mm x 1.3(1D MKll) = 2184mm

Wow that's a long ways away. The fox's eyes really set off this picture I think. Good shot.
