The other day a colleague was showing us pics of his family reunion. They were 4x6 color prints. The color and detail were incredible. I thought he was showing off his new megapixel dslr and new printer. Turns out the photos were taken with an ancient point/shoot camera using film!
Go figure.

I think it's easy to forget sometimes just how good film is in this digital age... try zooming in on a good scan of film, you sure don't get pixellation or its equivalent for quite a while after you do with an 8mpix DSLR :p

just about any decent film camera with some velvia in it will make some highly saturated pics that are able to be blown up to 8x10 without a problem.
