Newbie question....is the kit lens(18-55mm) a USM?

They made a Mk II non-USM for the kit and a Mk II USM for stand-alone retail, IIRC.

My kit lens says the following; CANON ZOOM LENS EF-S 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 II

It doesnt say usm, but is has the II on the end... Sorry, but what does that mean for me?

Mk II - second version; but they had Mk I (unlabelled) USM and Mk I non-USM and hanve Mk II USM and Mk II non-USM. If it doesn't say USM, it's not.
