WOW!!! My friend asked me to take some photos for her big day. YIKES!!! So this first post are the photos I took from the hotel to the limo. IN total, I took about 800 RAW photos..........and I can't even imagine sifting through all of them for edits. Hopefully some of these photos will be good enough to show in a portfolio...........so all constructive criticisms are welcome.

A bit of a background...........I am the back-up photographer for this event. I shot side by side with 2 other pro photographers. My only advantage is that I get to ride in the limo and I get first dibs on the bride getting ready.........

Great set of shots :)
#1 I really like the capture of the shoes. Part of me wants the background to be a little less shadowy, but I do see why you shot it like that.
#2 Nice portrait
#3 Nice capture
#4 I really like the rings shot...and how understanding of her to marry a LOTR fan :P
#5 NIce shot...she looks so pretty :)
#6 Great capture!
#7 Can't go wrong w/ black & white. Interesting family shot.
#8 I like the capture of the moment, but the light on his face is distracting.
#9 Great shot that will probably have a lot of sentimental value for the bride. Is there a meaning behind the letters?
#10 I love this shot!!!

Great job for a 1st wedding...keep up the good work :)

Is that the One Ring to rule them all and in the darkness bind him? Very nice shots by the way.

You did very well for a wedding for your first try. Some interesting angles and I also love the ring shot. We had a ring shot at our wedding and I think it add's a little bit of something different.. Good job.

awesome work! THX for sharing, probably got some of the "pros" you were shooting with a little nervous! haha!

edit. reviewing your photos again (cant get enough!) the "dad havin a headache" one seems to really grab my attention, the light casting through window giving those unique shadows, and the bride to be nervous look. awesome!

Good work for a first wedding, the ring shot is great, #2 is very cool, hope you got one of the dress in focus!

The key to processing wedding images is workflow. I use CS2 bridge. I go through each image and look it it for 1-2 seconds. I use the 1-5 keys to rate them quickly.
1 = out of focus, eyes closed, or other reason to be completely useles
2 = duplicate shot, not interesting, etc.
3 = solid shot, gets shown as a proof
4 = going into an album
5 = going into my portfolio

Then I view 3 star and up files, cutting more out until I get the number down to 200-300. That's just my way and it works for me.
