awesome work! THX for sharing, probably got some of the "pros" you were shooting with a little nervous! haha!

edit. reviewing your photos again (cant get enough!) the "dad havin a headache" one seems to really grab my attention, the light casting through window giving those unique shadows, and the bride to be nervous look. awesome!

Thanks for that!!! I wasn't sure if its something that should be included or not........but I think it adds a dose of reality in the whole story. :D

Good work for a first wedding, the ring shot is great, #2 is very cool, hope you got one of the dress in focus!

The key to processing wedding images is workflow. I use CS2 bridge. I go through each image and look it it for 1-2 seconds. I use the 1-5 keys to rate them quickly.
1 = out of focus, eyes closed, or other reason to be completely useles
2 = duplicate shot, not interesting, etc.
3 = solid shot, gets shown as a proof
4 = going into an album
5 = going into my portfolio

Then I view 3 star and up files, cutting more out until I get the number down to 200-300. That's just my way and it works for me.

TIM - excellent tip.........I use RSE and haven't even started using the 2 & 3.........I only put everything I like to 1.........I wish I can make it a habit to use the other two and the trash folder.

roanjohn,

First, I want to say... WOW! great photos. Second. I was looking at your gear list and it seems we think alike with lens selections (I am actually saving for the 70-200 f/4 as well,) and was wondering if you stuck to your primes, or used your f/4 zooms?

If you used your f/4's, did they perform well?

If you also used primes, did you find it a hassel changing them throughout the day?

At anyrate, what were your lens choices for the wedding, and how did the lens changing, if any, go for you?

Peace,
Bill

Thanks Spencer............yeah......that overexposed area on her nose is kinda distracting....but I also thinks it adds a bit of magic to it

I actually never had a chance to use my 70-200 f4.......I had with me the 17-40 (which was attached to the 1D) and the 35 and 85 prime which interchanged between the XT. I used the 50 macro on the ring shot only.....On low light situations, both the fast primes were on each camera. It was a bit of a hassle changing lenses, but I think it paid off at the end....

Great shots, Ro. Congrats on shooting your first. Guess you cant call yourself a virgin anymore. Ive seen some of your other work on the forum, so I am hardly surprised that these are outstanding as well. Keep it up. Look forward to seeing more of your stuff.

I agree with all, the ring shots are outstanding. I also think you have done very well on number 10. Well done.

You know I hate you. I've always hated you. Now, I hate you even more.;)

I've got my first "paid" wedding coming up. If I can take photos half as good as yours, I'll be quite happy.

I hate you.:p

Ro, I know you know I was joking with you. I actually hate the word "hate." Your shots are awesome. I spotted your talent long ago on this forum.
