Chimps in conversation

My local Zoo is just 2 minutes away. I went there yesterday and took this photo of these Chimpanzees, it certainly is not one of my best photos but they look as though they are having a conversation. I wonder what they are saying?

Can you imagine the conversation?

"Did you see what they served for lunch today?"

"How about that tourist, third from left?"

"Lookout! Long lens off to your right!"

Nice shot. I wonder what they are "talking" about - maybe what's on the dinner menu? You might want to crop out the naked dirt at the top of the image, I find it a little distracting.

I find (waht appears to be ) a painted toenail on one of the chimps more distracting.

Maybe they are discussing where to buy nail polish to finish the job.

There probaly trying how to lower gas prices ..so more people can come see them...had one a little more political but refrained...

That's a great story there. Those animals are deep in communication. Maybe we should turn them loose on the world's problems. Couldn't do much worse than we are!

Did you bump the contrast? I see the highlights are very bright, and the most important portions of the chimp on the left, the eyes and other elements of the face, are in deep shadow. Please don't think me presumptuous, and if you didn't bump contrast (a VERY blunt tool at best for photo toning), then never mind. But if you did, going back to the original and doing a little work with levels and curves in photoshop instead of increasing contrast will bring out a bit more detail in the shadow areas.

I hate to say this but soon after, the chimp on the left, notice her right hand? She went about poking her finger right up the other chimp's nose!

And your right steve, the contrast does look quite strong making the highlights are a little bright. I didn't take into photoshop I just did a quick automatic enhancement in iphoto.

You see it wasn't my intention to bring in a good quality photo but a quick fix on a generally bad photo but rather bring in a story of the chimps.
