So I was out enjoying the nice spring weather yesterday, driving about and taking pictures all over. When I happened to hit an old favorite, the local industrial park.

One of the buildings just happens to be... Nikon USA. Ahh, the irony of shooting it with a Canon. :)

Canon 1D Mark II N, 16-35mm f/2.8L and Heliopan SH-PMC CPL.

Thanks, guys... :)

They sit in a very manicured industrial park. The buildings are all some variant of blue and it looks great with the green grass and now the cherry blossom trees.

Canon USA is a little further (a few towns west). I'll get some pix one of these days and post 'em up.

Very nice and clean building, kinda reflects the quality of their products. I like Nikon, I have used several of their pre-AF SLR's before. Pretty good stuff, and they have some incredible glass too.

Absolutely. I've never used a modern Nikon but have to admit, they are pretty interesting. And when their glass is good, their glass is GOOD.

I made the Canon decision back in 1984 and just kind of went with it all these years.

I hear ya! You can't go wrong with Canon or Nikon. My dad used to collect cameras so I was lucky to use several brands when I was very young. I actually learned photography on an old German meterless rangefinder, on which I taped a "sunny 16" cheat sheet at the back. I do love cameras, the old SLR types, and I must say that though I used the old Canon A and F series, the Olympus OM series were my favorite.

Back to the pic, is that corporate headquarters, or some repair facility? If they clean their sensors as well as they do their windows, then Nikon fans are in for a treat.

Wow, that's funny. I started on my dad's meterless (broken) Voigtlander. I learned to nail the exposure pretty quickly that way... I also like old and other format cameras - some day I still hope to pick up a nice 'blad or Contax 645. I have one of those Minox spy cameras as well. My pride and joy until I went digital is an A-1 and a bag full o' glass.

That's their headquarters. If you can read the sign at the bottom, it should say that. But I believe they do repairs there as well from what I understand. It's definitely squeaky clean - always. But to be fair, the whole park is that way also.
