A few weeks ago the jetty at the end of what we call the Coast Guard Pier in Monterey was covered with Sea Lions. They have been replaced with these blue throated and blue eyed Brandt's Cormorants who are nesting. They go to the water and bring up pieces of seaweed to make their nests and then take turns incubating the eggs. Here are a few shots to give you an idea.
