I'm seriously impressed. These birds don't hang around, having been clocked at over 150mph (abot 270 kph), and he looks as if he means business in number 2.

Oh, and you can bore me anytime as well.

Don't procrastinate if you can put it off 'til tomorrow!

Awesome captures of the best pilot in the nature. Now i understand why there is no escape when its target is locked.

Beautiful shots, Wayne. How do you keep focus on a bird approaching you that quickly?

Thanks for the great comments folks, glad I haven't sent you all to sleep yet lol.

Turnerzdad, if you watch them when prey has just passed them you will see just how amazing these birds flight skills are.

Phreddie, they certainly do get moving don't they. Just after they do turns like this or when they stoop man they are moving.

Fee, damn straight my friend. Fantastic birds to watch. You can see how they can keep their target in their sights as it's head is still horizontal while it's body vertical. Looks like it just spotted me in the 2nd shot as it turned lol.

Ron, just practice mate and knowing the bird so you know what it's going to do and when. If you watch birds for a while you see the things they do and how they react to different situations. This allows you to see little signs of what they are about to do or to be able to predict what their next move maybe.

The rest is just panning and tracking skills really, or planning a shot with a "shoot zone" and using MF when they are too fast. I don't know how many folks also close the eye they don't use to look through the viewfinder. But if you do this try not doing it as it affects your depth perception and judgement, so keeping both eyes open is a big helping factor in tracking/panning.

Cheers Wayne :D

Wow...these are stunning. Your shots never cease to amaze me. Perfect in-flight shots. Fantastic. Love the staring glare in both of them. Both thumbs up. :-)

Best regards

Sindri
